I CAN'T WAIT TO SEND MY DAUGHTER TO COLLEGE!

*If you don't know what Masturbation is, it is when you kill baby kittens.
Just check out this ad below!

San Marcos, CA- A friend of mine took this photo today on her college campus. This is a great example of why I've lost faith in college education. My friend who took this picture is on their way to acheive a great education that will be credited by a 9 1/2" x 11" document, made from expensive stationary, printed with metallic ink. But other than this person, it is so difficult for me to salute those who journey off to a college or university because of crap like this.

Do you have kids? Do you want them to go off to college? Well, this is nothing compared to the abundant non-sense they'll experience. <--- (I'm sure you can tell that I went easy with that last sentence.)
If you do send your little girl off to CSUSM, it's nice to know that she'll have the option to learn how to be a DJ.

Sure, this masturbation class isn't a prerequisite for Oceanography. But it is truly sad that this event would be held within a learning institution that should be founded on true Wisdom. But nobody cares about "Wisdom" with a capital W.

Look. This is the real world. There's not going to be a bunch of cute, college hotties, sitting around in tank tops and Victoria Secret booty shorts giggling and busting out in pillow fights. This is probably led by some woman who is fat and is blaming men that she is still single. Of course only women are invited to this thing. Any woman who would run a class like this doesn't understand real relationships or how to make them work. I'm sure she's a liberal who watches and listens to way to much Public Radio and Public Television, and TiVo's EVERYTHING on the W.E. Network and Lifetime. Sitting around watching porn and looking at a bunch of un-Purell-ed sex toys is NOT what "women of higher learning" should be doing.

But what do I know. I'm not in college and nor do I ever want to damage my brain with it's slanderous filth. I'm a stupid person who can't pass Math at any university (sadly, I've been to five college universities so far). Heck, the last time I ever passed Math was when I took Geometry in high school.

I'll never forget Mrs. Avilez. She looked exactly like actress Roselyn Sanches. She had this thick Spanish accent and was a total fox and a half. I loved it when the teaching staff wore blue jeans on Fridays. OF COURSE I went to tutoring! She was my first too: the first Math teacher that could make long division fun. Giggity.

What was I talking about?

Oh yeah,

CSUSM: What do you think about this Masturbation class?

Controversial Imam to Speak at UCF Sparks Protests

Students at the University of Central Florida are protesting the expected appearance of a controversial imam speaking at the university as part of Islam Awareness Month.

Imam Siraj Wahhaj -- who was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and a character witness for Abdel Rahman, known as the Blind Sheik -- was invited by the Muslim Student Association to dispel misconceptions about the Islamic faith, reports MyFoxOrlando.

But his appearence, scheduled Friday evening, has sparked controversy at UCF --a public university part of the State University System of Florida.

“I’m all for free speech but when I started reading about him, as a conservative, some of his rhetoric can be very dangerous,” said Jonathon Little, Chairman of the College Republicans at UCF.

Wahhaj is an African American convert to Islam and imam of the Masjid Al-Taqwa mosque in Brooklyn, New York. He denounced the World Trade Center terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 but his critics say he remains neutral about Usama Bin Laden and his role in the attacks, MyFoxOrlando reports.

The Muslim Student Association defended its move saying in a statement: “The members of the Muslim Student Association are excited about or future speaker during Islam Awareness Month. Imam Siraj Wahhaj has a long record of being a positive force in our community and has made frequent college visits to encourage all students to live positive lives. We think that once you get a chance to hear his message, you will agree that he is a good choice as our speaker for this important month.”

The Muslim Student Association received $6,500 from the university towards Islam Awareness Month, yet it remains unclear if any of that is being used for the imam's visit. Any student-run group can apply for this type of funding, MyFoxOrlando reports.

The university itself says it supports free speech but does not endorse a speaker’s background or comments.

Some students have said they will go and hear what he has to say. Others say they plan to protest.

Vermin in ACLU sue to block school prayer

GREENWOOD, Ind. -- A central Indiana district isn't calling off a planned high school graduation prayer unless a federal judge orders it.

Greenwood School Board president Joe Farley says the district wants the judge to decide the merits of a lawsuit filed by the school's top-ranked senior.

Greenwood High School student Eric Workman is asking a federal judge to stop a student-led prayer that the senior class voted to approve.

The lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana on the 18-year-old's behalf claims that the prayer and class vote unconstitutionally subject students to religious practice.

The school district has until April 16 to respond to the lawsuit, and a court hearing is scheduled for April 30. The district's attorneys didn't immediately return telephone messages seeking comment Friday.

Girls Flock to Trampy Prom Dresses

By: ANNIE KARNI

Prom is going porn this year.

The days of dressing like a lady are over -- with teens preferring to parade around at their first big dance looking more like strippers than schoolgirls.

The hot trend is slutty chic -- with cleavage-revealing frocks, bellybutton-baring gowns and dresses made of barely enough fabric to make a washcloth.

"I can't believe that mothers let high-school girls buy these dresses for prom," said one sales associate at Saks Fifth Avenue, embarrassed to be selling a collection of prom dresses that were more appropriate for the main stage at Scores than a high-school gym.

Nathan Vaknin, manager of Fiesta Ladies Fashion, a dress store on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, said, "For prom this year, girls want short and poofy or long, tight-fitting, with everything cut out -- the sides are gone, the back is gone, the front is basically gone.

"Personally, I think it's too much, but we sell whatever puts money in our pocket," he said.

"The parents might say no at first, but I don't think anyone can convince these girls to get a dress besides the one they really want."

At Saks, one of the most popular prom dresses this season is a $380 floor-length leopard print La Femme dress that is backless and practically frontless with a diamond cut out between the breasts.

Girls are also coveting a Panoply dress with the sides cut out and a plunging neckline that sells for $370 on the Web.

Perhaps the most shocking dress available this year is the Nadia, designed by Boutique. The stretch-satin dress -- whose front dips to just above the pubic bone -- retails online for $349.

The city Department of Education doesn't impose a dress code for proms. It's up to each principal to make a judgment call about acceptable attire.

At Christopher Columbus HS in The Bronx, Principal Lisa Maffei-Fuentes inspects every dress herself.

"I check all of the dresses to make sure their body parts are covered," Maffei-Fuentes said. "They're not allowed to wear anything where their breasts are exposed. It can't be very short, and their rear ends can't be exposed."

Maffei-Fuentes has the girls show her pictures of their dresses before the big day. On May 26, when the school will hold its prom, Maffei-Fuentes will be at the door to make sure no outfits are breaking her rules.

"I watch them walk in," she said. "If they're wearing something inappropriate, I send them home or we fix the dress with pins, thread and needles."

Newport Beach Couple Open Marijuana School

By: Brianna Bailey and Mona Shadia

Chadd and Alysha McKeen don’t care that passersby can see the six 3-foot-tall marijuana plants growing inside their new Costa Mesa storefront.

“I want to tell people to stop being afraid of it,” said Chadd McKeen, co-founder of Otherside Farms. “We want to bring it out into the open.”

The McKeens also put in new tile and ripped the bars off the windows at the center, which sits between a dog-grooming business and a therapeutic spa. It’s all part of an effort to make the place appear open and inviting.

The shop at 2424 Newport Blvd. bills itself as a “medical marijuana information center.” It offers classes on everything from how to grow marijuana for medicinal purposes to how to make pot brownies. The six plants growing underneath special lights in one foil-padded room of the shop are strictly for teaching purposes, the couple said.

“It’s all self-taught,” Alysha McKeen said of the couple’s cultivation skills. “That learning curve is expensive, so we want to share what we know with people.”

The new information center is offering two-day weekend workshops on the basics of growing marijuana, including lighting, air flow and growing equipment.

People can walk in to find out where to get a doctor’s referral for medical marijuana, or how to find an attorney who specializes in medical-marijuana issues.

The couple also plan to organize legal workshops on medical-marijuana issues.

There have been bumps along the way to opening Otherside Farms.

It took the couple nearly a month to get a business license from Costa Mesa, Chadd McKeen said, because the city was concerned that the McKeens were trying to open up a marijuana dispensary, he said.

City officials have served cease-and-desist orders on half a dozen medical-marijuana dispensaries in Costa Mesa in recent weeks. Police raided two more this week, arresting workers on suspicion of felony drug violations.

While Otherside Farms runs a medical-marijuana delivery service, which serves cities across Los Angeles and Orange counties, the Costa Mesa shop is just a place where people can learn more about how to smoke, grow and bake with pot, the McKeens said.

“We took possession of the place on a Friday night, and the city was here at 8 a.m. Monday morning banging on the door,” Chadd McKeen said. “The city flipped out. Nobody knew what to do with us.”

Costa Mesa City Atty. Kimberly Hall Barlow said that as long as Otherside Farms is not distributing or selling marijuana, it should not encounter any problems while operating in the city, though she said she will have to learn more about the business.

“They have a 1st Amendment right to speak, but they don’t have a 1st Amendment right to distribute,” Barlow said.

Mayor Allan Mansoor said he’s concerned with who will be taught how to grow cannabis and “where it’ll end up.”

“Is it going to end up in kids’ hands or people that get high all the time?” he said. “I have a problem with that. I’ve seen the effects of it. If it’s truly someone that has a medical need, it needs to be within the law, so it depends on where it ends up.”

Costa Mesa city officials have clashed with medical marijuana dispensaries in recent months over a 2005 citywide ban on such establishments.

Police were staking out Doc’s, a dispensary a few doors down, for months, Chadd McKeen said.

Police raided Doc’s earlier this week, hauling out bags of marijuana and arresting one man on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale and transporting the drug.

One night, police followed the McKeens as they left Otherside Farms, and pulled them over and searched their car, Chadd McKeen said.

McKeen and his wife, both 39, used to work in the real estate industry. The couple live in Newport Beach and have three kids.

“I’m not some guy who bailed out of real estate and decided to open a dispensary,” Chadd McKeen said. “We see the front lines — I need this medicine.”

Alysha McKeen said she is undergoing treatment for skin cancer and medical marijuana helps her with side effects of treatment.

Chadd McKeen said he uses medical marijuana to ease pain from an old shoulder injury he suffered as a teenager working at Knott’s Berry Farm.

The couple hope the shop will make medical marijuana more acceptable through education, they said.

“It’s here, and it’s not going to go away,” Alysha McKeen said.

The $555,000 Student-Loan Burden

by: Mary Pilon

When Michelle Bisutti, a 41-year-old family practitioner in Columbus, Ohio, finished medical school in 2003, her student-loan debt amounted to roughly $250,000. Since then, it has ballooned to $555,000.

It is the result of her deferring loan payments while she completed her residency, default charges and relentlessly compounding interest rates. Among the charges: a single $53,870 fee for when her loan was turned over to a collection agency.

"Maybe half of it was my fault because I didn't look at the fine print," Dr. Bisutti says. "But this is just outrageous now."

To be sure, Dr. Bisutti's case is extreme, and lenders say student-loan terms are clear and that they try to work with borrowers who get in trouble.

But as tuitions rise, many people are borrowing heavily to pay their bills. Some no doubt view it as "good debt," because an education can lead to a higher salary. But in practice, student loans are one of the most toxic debts, requiring extreme consumer caution and, as Dr. Bisutti learned, responsibility.

Unlike other kinds of debt, student loans can be particularly hard to wriggle out of. Homeowners who can't make their mortgage payments can hand over the keys to their house to their lender. Credit-card and even gambling debts can be discharged in bankruptcy. But ditching a student loan is virtually impossible, especially once a collection agency gets involved. Although lenders may trim payments, getting fees or principals waived seldom happens.

Yet many former students are trying. There is an estimated $730 billion in outstanding federal and private student-loan debt, says Mark Kantrowitz of FinAid.org, a Web site that tracks financial-aid issues -- and only 40% of that debt is actively being repaid. The rest is in default, or in deferment, which means that payments and interest are halted, or in "forbearance," which means payments are halted while interest accrues.

Although Dr. Bisutti's debt load is unusual, her experience having problems repaying isn't. Emmanuel Tellez's mother is a laid-off factory worker, and $120 from her $300 unemployment checks is garnished to pay the federal PLUS student loan she took out for her son.

By the time Mr. Tellez graduated in 2008, he had $50,000 of his own debt in loans issued by SLM Corp., known as Sallie Mae, the largest private student lender. In December, he was laid off from his $29,000-a-year job in Boston and defaulted. Mr. Tellez says that when he signed up, the loan wasn't explained to him well, though he concedes he missed the fine print.

Loan terms, including interest rates, are disclosed "multiple times and in multiple ways," says Martha Holler, a spokeswoman for Sallie Mae, who says the company can't comment on individual accounts. Repayment tools and account information are accessible on Sallie Mae's Web site as well, she says.

Many borrowers say they are experiencing difficulties working out repayment and modification terms on their loans. Ms. Holler says that Sallie Mae works with borrowers individually to revamp loans. Although the U.S. Department of Education has expanded programs like income-based repayment, which effectively caps repayments for some borrowers, others might not qualify.

Heather Ehmke of Oakland, Calif., renegotiated the terms of her subprime mortgage after her home was foreclosed. But even after filing for bankruptcy, she says she couldn't get Sallie Mae, one of her lenders, to adjust the terms on her student loan. After 14 years with patches of deferment and forbearance, the loan has increased from $28,000 to more than $90,000. Her monthly payments jumped from $230 to $816. Last month, her petition for undue hardship on the loans was dismissed.

Sallie Mae supports reforms that would allow student loans to be dischargeable in bankruptcy for those who have made a good-faith effort to repay them, says Ms. Holler.

Dr. Bisutti says she loves her work, but regrets taking out so many student loans. She admits that she made mistakes in missing payments, deferring her loans and not being completely thorough with some of the paperwork, but was surprised at how quickly the debt spiraled.

She says she knew when she started medical school in 1999 that she would have to borrow heavily. But she reasoned that her future income as a doctor would make paying off the loans easy. While in school, her loans racked up interest with variable rates ranging from 3% to 11%.

She maxed out on federal loans, borrowing $152,000 over four years, and sought private loans from Sallie Mae to help make up the difference. She also took out two loans from Wells Fargo & Co. for $20,000 each. Each had a $2,000 origination fee. The total amount she borrowed at the time: $250,000.

In 2005, the bill for the Wells Fargo loans came due. Representatives from the bank called her father, Michael Bisutti, every day for two months demanding payment. Mr. Bisutti, who had co-signed on the loans, finally decided to cover the $550 monthly payments for a year.

Wells Fargo says it will stop calling consumers if they request it, says senior vice president Glen Herrick, who adds that the bank no longer imposes origination fees on its private loans.

Sallie Mae, meanwhile, called Mr. Bisutti's neighbor. The neighbor told Mr. Bisutti about the call. "Now they know [my dad's] daughter the doctor defaulted on her loans," Dr. Bisutti says.

Ms. Holler, the Sallie Mae spokeswoman, says that the company may contact a neighbor to verify an individual's address. But in those cases, she says, the details of the debt obligation aren't discussed.

Dr. Bisutti declined to authorize Sallie Mae to comment specifically on her case. "The overwhelming majority of medical-school graduates successfully repay their student loans," Ms. Holler says.

After completing her fellowship in 2007, Dr. Bisutti juggled other debts, including her credit-card balance, and was having trouble making her $1,000-a-month student-loan payments. That year, she defaulted on both her federal and private loans. That is when the "collection cost" fee of $53,870 was added on to her private loan.

Meanwhile, the variable interest rates continue to compound on her balance and fees. She recently applied for income-based repayment, but she still isn't sure if she will qualify. She makes $550-a-month payments to Wells Fargo for the two loans she hasn't defaulted on. By the time she is done, she will have paid the bank $128,000 -- over three times the $36,000 she received.

She recently entered a rehabilitation agreement on her defaulted federal loans, which now carry an additional $31,942 collection cost. She makes monthly payments on those loans -- now $209,399 -- for $990 a month, with only $100 of it going toward her original balance. The entire balance of her federal loans will be paid off in 351 months. Dr. Bisutti will be 70 years old.

The debt load keeps her up at night. Her damaged credit has prevented her from buying a home or a new car. She says she and her boyfriend of three years have put off marriage and having children because of the debt.

Dr. Bisutti told her 17-year-old niece the story of her debt as a cautionary tale "so the next generation of kids who want to get a higher education knows what they're getting into," she says. "I will likely have to deal with this debt for the rest of my life."

High School Article Causes Uproar in Local Community

by: THRILL

Vista, CA- High school student Hannah Brenzel wrote an article that is upsetting several conservatives in her local community. In the January 2010 print of her school newspaper, The Eagle Flyer, her article titled, "Presidential Critique: Argument just for argument's sake?" contains several statements that reek foul.

It is obvious from her article that Brenzel sides with the Obama Administration. That is fine. What is bothersome is the misjudgement of those who do not side, or support, our President. This article is one of many that gets printed on a day by day bases, written by a liberal mindset, which inevitably deteriorates our fabric of the American society.

Brenzel begins her article explaining how negative it is for a child to accept the political views of their parents. Her incorporation of Socrates, though very wise, is used to support the modern day, morally declined secular view- which is our youth disobeying most of our rules as leading parents. But when it comes to politics, Brenzel encourages YOU to lean on YOUR OWN understanding.

It's every parents' duty to train up a child in the way they should go. Why am I wrong of a parent if I train my child to become a Christian Conservative? Shouldn't a child be able to trust the decisions of their own parent? Hannah Brenzel doesn't think so. Infact, she goes on to point out that some students chose to make statements that are inaccurate about our president- the students that don't agree with Obama.

But what about her and those like her? Is it not true they are doing the same? I see it all the time. People praise Obama's "political platform" all the time based on what... Because everyone else is doing it? I see more people praising Obama based on NO FACTS than I do people bashing Obama based on NO FACTS as well.

Yet it's the same old song and dance. I find it EVIDENT that so many liberals praise Obama because of... hmmm.... why do liberals praise Obama? Yet there is so much good reason for a realist, or truth seeker, to conclude that Obama is bad for this country. Brenzel's article makes it clear that I'm not respecting Obama because I disagree with him. This is ludicrous. I'm not throwing tomatoes at him.

If I have solid reason, and I do, to form my own political view on Obama, just as Brenzel encourages me to do in her article, which is that I do not agree with his agenda as president, how am I being disrespectful? It is obvious: Hannah Brenzel is like the majority of Obama supporters. She's closed-minded towards truth, and open-minded towards liberalism.

Her calvanistic approach at Romans chapter thirteen blinds our Christian youth into believing that God ordained this president into office. I can't buy that. I wont teach that to my youth. There is a key agent that she's leaving out. Most Calvanists also forget...

the element of our own free will. Our free will allows us to make choices and desicions. There are consequences to the wrong decisions we make. Obama is a result of a majority making a wrong decision. God didn't put Obama in office. We the people did. (We the people who voted for him, not we the people of the entire United States)

Another American offended by Brenzel's article, is Mario De Maria. Now you all know of Mario De Maria because I've brought him up before in past blogs and articles of my own. What's amazing about Mario is that he's a dying breed. Though only in his 20s, he grasps the threat we as God fearing Americans are facing. The plague of liberalism: a true mental disorder.

Mario De Maria understands that the enemy to our American way of life is biased news articles like the one Brenzel posted in The Eagle Flyer.

"But so what!" You might add,"Hannah Brenzel is harming nobody with her article! Why should we care or not about what our high schoolers post in their school paper?"

Because our youth is leaning on to their own understanding, not towards righteousness and truth. Brenzel's article is definite proof of this. Mario De Maria recognizes the severity of this situation. As an American patriot, who is not stubborn with his old age, and can lead our next generation of children, Mario De Maria made it very clear that Hannah Brenzel's article is an abortion.

I look foward to hearing and reading what Mario De Maria has to say in response to "Presidential Critique: Argument just for argument's sake?"

Well, Mario, what say you?

Powerful Facebook Note by Erika Pichette

Erika Morgan Pichette,
an 18 year-old American woman, recently published a Note on her Facebook discussing events that have happend in a class at a state college. In it, she confirms how so many of our college students are raised with a knowledge far from truth. Not only is she persecuted for her Conservative Christian beliefs, she is surrounded by classmates and instructors that are dumbasses.

Her note is titled,

"College-What is it teaching us? Redefining education...try Reinvinting Truth..."

Here is a part of her Facebook Note:
The other day I was in one of my classes. It is called “Life-Long Learning” but unfortunately it is a class that has done just about everything except encourage me to learn. Instead, it is a class that has tried to redefine all the things that I believe: [one liberal idea after another pushed at me.] It is the kind of class that college students say is a waste of time because they don’t actually learn anything, and yet, ironically enough it is still called “Life-Long Learning.”

Since I attend a state college, I have officially become a minority because of my faith and I have begun to realize just how much our society and its ideals have degenerated.

The other day in class we were asked to discuss ten controversial points based on ethics. The topics included euthanasia, healthcare and socialized medicine, the death penalty, the drinking age, etc.

First off, this was a joke considering most of the students don’t really have or know what their own code of ethics is, and if they do have one, it is usually based completely on whim and is not consistent with many of their other views as I have discovered through numerous debates that I have had at school now.

On my first day in class we had an assignment where we stood up in front of the class and introduced ourselves and gave a little “this is who I am” speech. I made no secret of the fact that I was a Christian who wanted to stand up for my faith—in fact, this made up most of my speech’s content. Therefore, most of my class has made a point of taking a stance opposite of mine simply because I am the “crazy conservative Christian.” This made our discussion on ethics all the more frustrating and depressing, since they automatically argued against everything I [said] no matter how logical or reliable my arguments were.

It was me against the class, and because there were 35 or so people against me, I had no hope of winning any of my arguments—no matter how logical they were.

She continues to go indepth with her note, discussing the rediculous views her classmates have on the topic of Legalizing Marijuana. Obviously, how can we as Americans dismiss so quickly that an American, like Erika, is being mocked and degraded simply because she states that she is a Christian?

Why do we find it so taboo to say, "I am a Christian; Yes, I love Jesus!"

What is happening to Erika is just more fuel to my old fire that I've always kept burning, which states, modern day college education is a total joke. It is a joke because of the majority of braindead knuckle heads that fill the seats of the classrooms and stand infront of the chalk board. Sure there are a few good college seeds like Erika Pichette, but look at the environment she has to put up with! LOOK AT IT!

It gets better. Erika Pichette also discusses in her note a conversation she has with another classmate regarding the Palestinian/Israel conflict. Read how not only is the broad that Erika talks with is a genuine idiot, but the shallow close minded class room joins the band wagon of disregarding Erika's truth. Erika writes:
This discussion frustrated me more than any other. A girl in my class decided that she would stand up and make a claim that was completely unsupported by any evidence, and because I did not agree with her, the entire class sided with her as a result. She claimed that our media was slanting everything that was being reported on the issue and that they were making Israel look like the victim and Palestine look like a bunch of terrorists. She claimed that it was actually Israel who was terrorizing Palestine, and that if America were to stop supporting Israel and withdraw our support from them as an ally, they would not have the ability to continue attacking Palestine and the conflict would be over because Palestine would no longer have to defend itself against Israel and would be happy to have peace.

WHAT????? I was so flabbergasted by this claim that had absolutely no support that I didn’t even know what to say. This is what is coming out of our colleges today…wow! This girl must be so enlightened! The solution to a conflict that has been going on for thousands of years—since Biblical times—is to simply to stop support and both groups will forgive and forget…Does anyone in this class have a brain???!!! There will never be a solution to this conflict. It is not just a territorial issue, it is a religious battle between 2 religious groups who take their religion very seriously and integrate it into every part of their day. Neither side will ever give in. The second that Israel stops retaliating and defending itself, Palestine will blow them off the face of the earth. Don’t think that they would hesitate a second to annihilate the Jews and take back the land which they feel is rightfully theirs. Don’t believe me? Here is a quote from the Iranian President, “Our belief and creed remain that Israel is an illegal entity, a cancerous tumor, that must cease to exist." he was speaking in a televised address to all Middle Easterners. You really think that they will leave Israel alone? If you do, you’re an idiot. You may think I am rude and wrong in saying this, but I’m just calling it as it is…

Unbelievable! Holy God Almighty. I am stunned. Praise God that atleast you, Erika, are not braindead. I can only pray that these lost classmates of yours will not rub off their evil/ignorant ways on your iron-strong beliefs.

We need more youth in this nation that have the heart and mind like that of Erika's. There needs to be some kind of redirection, a repent on the college masses, to turn from liberal mindsets and foolish ethics towards righteous doctrine. Erika Pichette closes her Note with this remarkable statement:

Please, use your head to make educated claims that have hard evidence and logic behind them. College has taught me that the world thinks it is now acceptable to make claims simply because it is what you believe, and they do not need to have any hard evidence behind them. Are you proud that our colleges are teaching this? It is the most valuable lesson I have learned and I now know the importance of thinking for ones’ self rather than simply accepting what is being told to you…everyone has a bias and an agenda…know who you can trust, or your mind will become polluted and you will become lost in the relative, liberal, and inconsistent ideologies which saturate and invade every facet of society today.

Erika Morgan Pichette, God bless you and thank you for standing up for what is right.

Review Ordered of Video Showing Students Singing Praises of Pres. Obama

Nearly 20 young children are captured in an online video as they sing songs that overflow with campaign slogans and praise for "Barack Hussein Obama," as they repeatedly chant the president's name and celebrate his accomplishments.
by: FOXNews

The commissioner of New Jersey's Department of Education ordered a review on Friday following the posting of a YouTube video depicting school children singing the praises of President Obama.

In a statement to FOXNews.com, Education Department spokeswoman Beth Auerswald said Commissioner Lucille Davy has directed the school's superintendent to review the matter. Auerswald said Davy wants to ensure that students can celebrate Black History Month without "inappropriate partisan politics in the classroom."

"In addition, it is our understanding the teacher in question retired at the end of the last school year," the statement continued.

Auerswald declined to indicate exactly what the review would entail or possible ramifications.

As critics of the video claimed it amounted to "indoctrination," the tension at B. Bernice Young Elementary School escalated to such a degree Thursday that the school was placed temporarily on lockdown after its principal received death threats over a YouTube video that showed nearly 20 children being taught songs lauding the president, though back-to-school night events continuing as planned Thursday night at the school.

Video of the students at the Burlington, N.J., school shows them singing songs seemingly overflowing with campaign slogans and praise for "Barack Hussein Obama," repeatedly chanting the president's name and celebrating his accomplishments, including his "great plans" to "make this country's economy No. 1 again."

One song that the children were taught quotes directly from the spiritual "Jesus Loves the Little Children," though Jesus' name is replaced with Obama's: "He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama."

The video has set off some families in Burlington, who said they were horrified that their children at the being "indoctrinated" to view the president like a cult figure.

"I'm stunned -- I can't believe it's our school," said Jim Pronchik, who told FOXNews.com his 8-year-old son Jimmy was one of the 18 students in the video. "We don't want to praise this guy like he's a god or an idol or a king or anything like that. That's the wrong message to be sending."
Pronchik said he and his wife were never informed about the lesson, which the superintendent of Burlington Township schools says was held in February as part of Black History Month "to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country."

But Andrea Ciemnolonski, the parent of another one of the students in the video, said the song was part of a second-grade project on a variety of topics related to the month of February, such as Groundhog Day, Valentine's Day and Presidents Day.

"They did songs about President Washington, Lincoln, and they did do one about President Obama," Ciemnolonski said. "My daughter was in the class that did the songs about Obama. It was black history month. ... It was something for the kids to celebrate."

Ciemnolonski said she "just can't look at it as indoctrination," though she added, "The comparisons made were a little exuberant."

Superintendent Christopher Manno said in a written statement Thursday that the taping itself was out of order, but failed to address whether the lesson was approved. "The recording and distribution of the class activity were unauthorized," he wrote in a note to parents and the media.

Other families arriving at Bernice Young Elementary to pick up their children said they were outraged at the songs, which also tout a fair-pay bill Obama signed in January: "He said we must be clear today/Equal work means equal pay."

"I felt this was reminiscent of 1930s Germany, and the indoctrination of children to worship their leader," said Robert Bowen, father of two children at Bernice Young Elementary.

"I thought that if this was a civics class in say high school or upper level middle school, in might be appropriate to discuss policies or politics, but as far as children in first grade, second grade -- those types of levels -- it's inappropriate to discuss how a president is changing the world after only six weeks in office."

Parents said the songs were performed in Elvira James' second grade class. James, who refused to comment to FOXNews.com, retired at the end of the previous school year on a full pension in New Jersey.

Bowen said he thought there should be consequences for having provided such a one-sided lesson to impressionable students there.

"It's something that there should be serious repercussions for ... the administration here, and I think the school board needs to be answerable to the parents of the community," said Bowen. School board members did not respond to requests for comment.

Though the school was not planning to address the tape during back-to-school-night events, many parents were heading in with with a lot of questions about the tape.

"This video is disturbing," said a grandparent named Sandy, who spoke on the condition that her last name not be included. "We don't teach politics in pre-school -- or kindergarten or first grade."

"This has no place in the classroom," said Sandy, added Sandy, who told FOXNews.com she has two grandchildren attending Bernice Young Elementary. "It may have been the opinion of one or two, and someone should pay the consequences for it."

The author of the songs is unknown, but a woman -- possibly a teacher -- can be heard in the beginning of the video correcting and helping a student who has forgotten the words. Another woman, the person holding the camera, cheers the students on: "All right," she says. "I like that."

"Alteredbeat," the YouTube user who posted the video on the Internet, told FOXNews.com that the video was first put online by Charisse Carney-Nunes, an activist and author of the children's book "I Am Barack Obama," which her Web site says "allows children to see themselves through the inspirational story of President Obama." Carney-Nunes has been promoting the book during visits to schools on the east coast.

A poster for the book can been seen near the stage of the auditorium in the video of Bernice Young Elementary, but it is unclear whether Carney-Nunes had visited the school or was present during the filming.

"Alteredbeat" told FOXNews.com that he reached out to Carney-Nunes, who insisted that the program had been filmed in June as part of a Father's Day tribute to President Obama. "The kids made up the songs on their own," she wrote, according to the YouTube user.

"Alteredbeat" originally posted the video Sept. 6, two days before Obama made an address to the nation's schoolchildren in which he praised the American education system as the best in the world and urged students to stay in school.

"At the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, and the best schools in the world," Obama said

Obama Delivers Stay-in-School Speech Amid Controversy

FOXNews.com

As controversy swirled around his speech to the nation's schoolchildren, President Obama told students Tuesday to take responsibility for their education, go to class and listen and not let failures define them.
"At the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, and the best schools in the world," Obama said. "And none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities."
Obama delivered his speech at a school in Virginia where he was greeted by a raucous crowd of students. He encouraged them to maintain their focus and use school as a way to succeed despite their background.
But elsewhere, schools were struggling with how to handle what had become a politically sensitive event. The speech had stirred controversy, with some parents, school officials and conservative groups expressing concerns that the president was injecting politics into local education.
In Florida's Indian River County, the superintendent met with local officials up to the 11th hour to determine how to treat the broadcast. According to the Press Journal, school officials last week decided that the speech had to be taped and reviewed before showing students, meaning it would not be shown live.
Elsewhere, officials were going ahead with plans to screen the speech, even though prepared remarks were released by the Obama administration Monday. Some Wisconsin schools, for instance, did not watch Obama live. The Elmbrook district's Superintendent Matt Gibson told FOX News that teachers would have a chance to review the message first so they can determine how best to include it in the curriculum.
In Virginia, Obama urged students to work hard.
"At the end of the day, the circumstances of your life -- what you look like, where you come from, how much money you have, what you've got going on at home -- that's no excuse for neglecting your homework or having a bad attitude," he said. "That's no excuse for talking back to your teacher, or cutting class, or dropping out of school. That's no excuse for not trying."
"Where you are right now doesn't have to determine where you'll end up," he continued. "No one's written your destiny for you. Here in America, you write your own destiny. You make your own future."
The speech steered clear of any partisan attacks or a push for liberal politics as conservatives had feared. Yet the speech drew fire from conservative critics even before he delivered it.
The White House posted Obama's remarks on its Web site at midday Monday to quell criticism that the speech was intended to indoctrinate students into a socialist agenda.
Yet some critics still called for parents to have their children boycott the speech amid accusations that Obama is using schools to push a liberal agenda. White House officials, including Education Secretary Arne Duncan, have said the allegations are silly.
But the president's speech got a boost from some Republicans.
GOP Senate candidate Pat Toomey, who is seeking to unseat Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pa., called Obama's talk "an inspiring and moving speech for students across America."
"Education is the cornerstone of our country's future," Toomey said in a written statement, "and it is important that we relay that message to our young students. The President's emphasis on responsibility and the personal stories about his own education are exactly the kind of inspiring messages our children need to hear from our country's leaders."
Former first lady Laura Bush, wife of Obama's Republican predecessor, said on Monday she supported Obama's decision to address America's school children.
"There's a place for the president of the United States to talk to school children and encourage school children" to stay in school, Mrs. Bush, a former school teacher, said in a CNN interview.
However, she said believes that parents who were plan to keep their children home because of the president's address had the right to do so.
Florida Republican party chairman Jim Greer, who said last week he was "absolutely appalled that taxpayer dollars are being used to spread President Obama's socialist ideology," said Monday he now favored the speech after changes he said the White House, under political pressure, had made to supporting materials for teachers and to the speech itself.
Obama made no reference in his remarks to the uproar surrounding his speech. Nor did he make an appeal for support for tough causes such as his health care overhaul. He used the talk to tell kids about his at-times clumsy ways as a child and to urge them to set goals and work hard to achieve them.
"At the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents and the best schools in the world," Obama said. "And none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities."
Schools don't have to show the speech. And some districts have decided not to, partly in response to concerns from parents.
Duncan's department has also taken heat for proposed lesson plans distributed to accompany the speech.
The education secretary has acknowledged that a section about writing to the president on how students could help him meet education goals was poorly worded and has been changed.
In his remarks, Obama also leaves the students with some words of encouragement.
"I expect great things from each of you," he said. "So don't let us down -- don't let your family or your country or yourself down. Make us all proud. I know you can do it."

The Bible and American Education

THE BOOK OF PROVERBS tells us that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge" (1:7). The American Founders certainly understood this truth, and from the beginning stressed the relationship between a sound education based upon biblical absolutes and the future of the nation.

In 1776, the future President John Adams said, "Statesmen... may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone, which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand." That mind-set was widely held among the Founders who helped shape the political, educational, and legal foundations of the new nation. Men such as Daniel Webster, Benjamin Franklin, Benjamin Rush, Samuel Adams, and George Washington echoed these same sentiments, believing that the strength of the republic was dependent upon the morality of her people, and that religion must undergird it. They saw the education of young minds being at the heart of it.

NOT SURPRISINGLY, most of America's oldest universities were started by preachers and churches. Harvard, William and Mary, Yale, Princeton, King's College, Brown, Rutgers, and Dartmouth were all founded by Christian preachers and church affiliations.

Harvard University, for example, which was founded in 1636 by the Puritans, adopted the "Rules and Precepts" of the university that stated: "Let every student be plainly instructed, and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies is, to know God and Jesus Christ which is eternal life (John 17:3) and therefore lay Christ at the bottom, as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning." Even Harvard's original seal, which can be seen etched in the walls of the campus today, states upon it these words: "Truth for Christ and the Church."

Yale College was established in 1701 with a stated goal that "every student shall consider the main end of his study to wit to know God in Jesus Christ and answerably to lead a godly, sober life." The College of William and Mary was founded in 1693 to supply the church of Virginia "with a seminary of ministers" that the "Christian faith may be propagated." And King's College, known today as Columbia University, purposed to "inculcate upon [students'] tender minds the great principles of Christianity and morality." Princeton had as one of its founding statements: "Cursed is all learning that is contrary to the Cross of Christ."

IN COLONIAL AMERICA, in addition to the Bible and the Bay Psalm Book, the first textbook for schoolchildren, The New England Primer, taught the ABC's by children memorizing basic biblical truths and lessons about life: A-In Adam's fall, we sinned all. B-Heaven to find, the Bible Mind. C-Christ crucify'd for sinners died, and so on. Included in the Primer, were the names of the Old and New Testament books, the Lord's Prayer, the Apostles' Creed, the Ten Commandments, the Westminster Assembly Shorter Catechism, and John Cotton's "Spiritual Milk for American Babies." The Primer was the second best-selling book in the American colonies (the Bible was number one).

IN 1836, NOAH WEBSTER, often called "The Father of American Education," expressed the purpose of schools was meant for the advancement of the Christian faith: "In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed... No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people."
Unfortunately, in time, a philosophical shift took place in America, and the biblical principles for education were slowly eroded and abandoned, with sad and tragic consequences that continue to unfold. John Dewey, known as "The Architect of Modern Education," said, "There is no God, and there is no soul. Hence, there are no needs for the props of traditional religion." Those props have been knocked away, and the loss of moral standards has opened the door to untold numbers of unwanted teen pregnancies, abortions, drub abuse, alcoholism, violence, and suicide.
If we believe that the Founders were correct in asserting that America would fail if it lost its religious foundation, it is primarily incumbent upon Christian believers to reaffirm and reclaim our Chrisian educational heritage with the same passion and commitment of the Founders. There are many ways and many levels at which to instigate change, but it begins with a willingness to become engaged in the battle.
